The Resurrection

Standing in the mouth of the tomb with the stone rolled away, the risen Christ glows in the dawn light while a Roman guard runs toward the walls of Jerusalem. A triumphant, sunlit image of Easter morning.

“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” — Matthew 28:6

From the Immersive Biblical Realism collection: photorealistic scenes seen from over the shoulder of the people who lived them. The fleeing guard is an artistic interpretation of Matthew 28:4.
