The Crucifixion at Calvary

Seen from directly overhead, the three crosses stand on the rocky hill of Golgotha. Roman soldiers keep watch and the women kneel in grief, all cast in long shadows. A sober, documentary view of the most important day in history.

“And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.” — Luke 23:33

From the Monumental Aerial Perspectives collection: overhead, historical-documentary views of biblical events.
